MARGARITA is a special education laboratory for people with mental disabilities living in Athens. It was founded in 1979 by Ioanna Tsokopoulou, mother of a child with Down syndrome.
MARGARITA aims to integrate people with mild and moderate mental disabilities, aged 14 to 45, into society through vocational rehabilitation.
The staff of MARGARITA consists of 35 people with experience in the provision of social services, special education and psychology. MARGARITA provides services to 100 students and their families.
